View the latest post considering 1984 3207

Hello all.
I'm considering the purchase of a 1984 3207 as a live-aboard for 1 initially with a dog and female companion added in that order within a short period of time lol... I'm curious about any known trouble spots/ problems with these vessels? anything I should watch for? I saw the sweet interior refit for built in TV that a member did that was exactly like the mod i was thinking of doing based on the pics of the 3207s I've looked at.
however my main concern at the moment is getting the boat... I should mention that I'm in the great lakes area...
any input you folks may have to offer would be appreciated.

Any recommendations on repair or replacement of a 1999 Rairatan model 85 icemaker? It appears that the module that contains the small motor that controls the harvest of the ice may have failed. Replacement cost is $130.00 plus.
Not sure if the other components will hold up long term. New models are $1k plus.
Thanks.

View the latest post fender holders

I just purchased a 1999 voyager 450 and it is on its way to Boston from Ft Lauderdale. I need to buy fenders for her and I remember built in fender holders in the swim platform and deck. What size fender do they accommodate? 8" 10",or 12" ?

View the latest post Garmin VHF radio issues

OK Here is a good one. My Garmin radios (I have 2) are both experiencing an issue where I can transmit, but cannot hear the recieve portion unless the squelch is all the way off. As you can imagine this is annoying as can be and a bit of a safety issue. Folks say they can hear me loud and clear. I have swapped antennas, so it is not that. Any Ideas?

View the latest post Hard top or swim platform mounting for a wave runner

Has anyone ever mounted a Davit and wave runner to a carver hard top? How much weight can they hold? I have a sea doo that weighs about 700lbs full and I am looking for a place to mount it so I can take it with me. I own a 1999 Carver 356 Aft Cabin. Any thoughts would be appreciated. Sling on the back? Maybe?

Hi. I recently bought a 1995 355 Aft Cabin and love it. The only thing I don't like is the out dated electronics. Furuno GP-31 GPS Navigator (almost useless), Furuno LS-8000 Sounder (Almost useless) Raytheon RIOXX Raster Scan Radar (almost useless) and Standard Horizon CP180i GPS (works okay but not quite what I feel I need). Because I don't know much about it, I thought that just because the boat had the equipment I had it covered
I think I need to start over and I am a bit scared at the prospect and the cost to do it. I would like a large, easy top read display. I want GPS, Radar and Sonar, plus any other goodies I may need but don't know it. This is my first real ocean boat. My last boat was a 30 foot Chapparal and I installed a Raymarine A70d which worked pretty well, but I need a lot more on this boat. I am thinking of having a system installed. I get differing opinions from people who want to sell me something. I am really a novice with electronics so I need user friendly stuff. Any suggestions on what complete system to get and info about it would be appriciated. My boat is in Oxnard CA.
Thanks
