View the latest post New to Carver

Hi I am Tracie and my partner is Andy we bought our Carver 390 European two months ago with the idea to live and work on board whilst travelling around the UK.

We are first time boat owners and love our boat ScooBus (aka Scooby)

We are trying to sorce parts for her but it is hard so any help on that front would be good. We have just started going through the manual to find everything :) We are currently on hardstand on the river Medway.

We just wanted to say Hi xxx :captain:

View the latest post Attachment(s) Drain tube splash guard

2006 39my - I’ve been looking for this rubber fitting for two years. It located on the exterior near the window on the aft deck. I don’t even know what you call it. The attached picture may be coming in sideways. Any suggestions on what it is called and where to find a replacement? Much appreciated!.

Hey everyone. Been a while since posting because everything was Hunky Dory. Until. Genny started great, 110v , beautiful. Turned on shore power 1, great. Then shore power 2 and when the ac kicked in, Back fires......So I'm going to start with replacing the plugs this weekend unless someone has had this happen before to them. I changed the plugs in 2017 when I bought the boat. Thanks for reading.

View the latest post 450 Voyager planing speed

I see a number of prior discussions on planing speed, but I'm hoping to get some data from someone with this model so I can use the info as a reference when troubleshooting performance. Mine has TAMD 74P engines, but not sure if that is relevant to the knots the boat is going when it gets up on plane, although knowing the RPM which I'm assuming would be engine specific would also be interesting.
I'm still trying to determine the cause of smoking which on my last outing occurred on speeds up to 2000 RPM which was about 14 knots. (I recorded 11.8kts at 1850RPM and 15.5knts at 2200RPM). 4 people aboard, 750lb dinghy, 200 gallons of fuel, bottom not heavily fouled but probably some soft growth.

View the latest post Forward facing white courtesy (?) light on bow

There is forward facing white light on the slanted fiberglass below the helm area and above the windshield on my 1992 Carver 36 aft cabin motor yacht. It has the same fixture as the transom nav light, on a short chrome pole. It isn't getting power (or maybe isn't getting ground, not sure yet/don't have that test setup).
1) is it meant to be a courtesy light for the bow when tying off lines or something?
2) where is the switch supposed to be for it, if original equipment? I don't see this light on other carvers in the marina. Should it maybe switch on with the anchor light position of the nav lights switch?
Thanks!

Hello all
My wife and I just purchased a 3607. We are year round liveaboards on Lake Ontario, We have spent the last ten years living on a sailboat and decided to upgrade to something a little more comfortable. Looking forward to interacting with other Carver owners as we get use to our new vessel learning all its quirks and charms.
