Greetings all my h-50 flybridge helm was developing a leak after 36 years lol . Upon teardown and inspection rust was noted on the shims and bearing so no rebuild at home possible. Seastar ( Teleflex mfg facility located 70 miles away from me in Ontario Canada ) helm hh5273-3 was needed ,best possible price in Canada was 971.00 no installation kit 1230.00 for full kit
seastar hyd fluid 52 $ cdn litre (almost a quart in US ) . Found a showroom open box helm unit ( Ebay ) for 459 US mount kit for 80 Us plug 16 Us , so even with nasty 33% exchange rate I was way ahead. Fluid flush of whole system needs about 3 quarts ,so 156.00$ cdn to pitch our most of it . Reservoir stated Aeroshell 41 Mil spec 5606 is recommended, Aircraft Spruce Canada sells for 18.36 quart 2 day delivery . Check amazon !! a little research can save major bucks.

I was thinking about buying of these power brushes for cleaning my boat's hull and deck. Does anyone have any experience using these devices? If they are helpful, any recommendations on the best one to buy?
Here is a link to one I found on Amazon.

Hello, We have acquired a Carver 3607 at the end of the last season and I am trying to get some information about it. One particular question I have is the performance / speed of the cruiser at different engine speeds.
Does anyone have any info on estimated speed at idle, 1000, 1100 ..... 1600 rpms? Thanks in advance,

Hello everyone, I'm a proud owner of a 1990 3608 Motor Yacht. My previous vessel was a 1995 310 Silverton Express Cruiser (sorry for cursing!). I've been learning a lot about this boat (Bring Out Another Thousand). I would like to learn a lot more! I've got a small list to do before next boating season or I won't be insured. I've already removed the residential 120v common neutral/ground fridge and replaced it with a dual voltage boat fridge, replaced 50% of my 1999 fuel lines, Still more to do. The vessel came with crusaders, One I found out it was a Gen 5 because it had an electric fuel pump and no mount for mechanical (need to wire in properly and install a fuel water separator upstream). The list goes on....but I do enjoy some of the projects and learning about them.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Winter boat storage. 36 aft cabin

I have a question about winter storage. I have a 3607 aft cabin.
My marina has done haulout and I keep it in its covered slip for the winter. I checked on it and found 15 gallons of water way up in the bow and under V berth. (I vacuumed out before freeze) . I shot a green laser level up the hull at the water line at the stern to the bow (pictures attached) The laser starts at the water line at the Stern and is over 8" above the water line (bow low) at 20 feet (of course higher up front but pics too hard). What is the proper level a boat should be stored over the winter. Marina is telling me this is correct. I don't belive that it is.
Thanks in advance
Mitch

- Forum: Introduce Yourself!
Hi everyone,
I’m the proud new owner of a 1996 325. We just closed on it and are very excited. I’ve been reading a lot on this forum throughout the buying process and have already learned a ton.
The boat is structurally in great shape, aside from a wet (but not yet soft) swim platform, likely due to the deck box fasteners leaking. Our surveyor thought we caught it in time if we remove the deck box and re-bed the screws in epoxy, as others have done. Aside from that, the surveyor said it was “surprisingly dry” for a 1996 boat, which I was happy to hear. Also both engines were pulled and totally rebuilt in 2021, and the new engines only have about 50 hours on them. However, the boat has been a bit neglected the last couple years and doesn’t have much in terms of optional equipment, so there is already a long list of projects/updates I am excited to get to work on!
Growing up, my family had a Gibson houseboat that we spent the better part of every summer on. I’ve also owned a small boat (18’ bowrider) for many years. But I have a family of my own now and it was time for us to upgrade to our first “big boat”. I have a lot of boating experience but zero Carver/yacht experience so this is a big change and I have a lot to learn. I know I’m going to get a lot of value out of this forum and I hope I repay the favor by sharing some of what I learn along the way.
We live in Wisconsin and I think it’s pretty awesome to have a boat that came from our home state.
I’ll be posting about some of the projects as I start to dig into my list over the next several months.
Excited to be here!
Tony

I am pulling out what little hair I have left dealing with the plumbing on this boat! I have been working on replacing the sanitation hoses on the forward head for 2 days now and the 1.5 inch discharge hose was apparently pinched under the shower pan when Carver assemble the boat and there is no really good way to run new hose that I can see. Mainly just venting, but if anyone else has tackled this job, I'm all ears on possible solutions.
