View the latest post Attachment(s) Carver 3297 Project Boat

Hello friends,

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted…I’ve been working on my vessel. My God, it’s slow going and expensive.

In the salon area, I’ve been taking the wall panels off and I’m getting those covered in black leather.

I was thinking while those panels are off, does it make sense to add some spray foam insulation?

This is my first boat - and criticisms are welcome..I have a thick skin.

Kindly,
v/r,
Stephen

View the latest post 2002 Carver 346 Trim Tabs - Can I add a gauge?

Hello! I purchased a 2002 Carver 346 last summer and am looking to make a few updates for the 2026 season.

Would be nice to know the position of the trim tabs vs. just pressing the dash toggle UP or DOWN not knowing when the tabs hit their stops (as I dont have a dash gauge). Currently I just keep pressing the button and holding for a while assuming eventually I will be all the way up (or down), not sure if that does any harm to the hydraulics either.

Does anyone know what brand Carver used and if they have any sort of a position wire that might work with a trim tab gauge that I can still purchase? There are some outboard 2" gauges that look at resistance and then of course there is an entire new setup with hydraulics, wiring, UP DOWN buttons and a gauge.

My tabs still work fine so just looking to install a compatible indicator on my dash.

View the latest post Carver 3607 electric galley help

Hi team,

I'm redoing the electrical system on my Carver 3607, and frankly, it's a mess. I need to change the chargers, and I'm not sure how to redo the distribution panels without tearing everything out. It’s honestly more complicated than optimizing the latency in an online game at least there, if you mess up your settings, you don't risk a fire! Has anyone here done this before? Any tips and tricks to avoid burning the boat or breaking the bank on reliable equipment?

Thanks, guys.

View the latest post JJ312 - New owner Carver 3607

Hi team,

John here, JJ312 on the forum. I just bought an '88 Carver 3607. It needs quite a bit of work, especially the electrical system, as you saw in my other post. I'm in the southwest with the boat.
Looking forward to exchanging tips with you!

View the latest post Keeping the family crew organized

I finally managed to get the bridge electronics on our 360 Sport Sedan exactly where I want them, but man, my scheduling is a total mess this season. I thought having the onboard system and my phone would be enough to keep our weekend departures and guest arrivals straight. Instead, I’m finding that my personal appointments often vanish or don't show up on the shared iPad we keep at the helm, leading to a few "where are you?" calls while I'm out at the fuel dock. It seems like the constant switching between the marina Wi-Fi and LTE is causing some serious lag, or just stopping the updates entirely with a calendar synchronisation that never seems to stay active. I've messed with the settings and tried a couple of different apps, yet the entries still aren't mirroring like they should. If you guys have a reliable way to keep your boat schedule and personal life in sync without manual double-entry, I’d love to hear how you set it up.

View the latest post Carver 466 Mid Cabin

I tried to post this yesterday but the website was very slow so it looks like it timed out.

Can someone tell me if the mid-cabin (Hobbit Hut) on a 2003 - 466 has a 110 volt outlet? The electrical schematic does not specifically call it out, but it could be tied to the salon or forward head circuit. TIA

View the latest post 2005 38SS Port engine removal

Hi all,
We have a 2005 Carver 38SS with Volvo 8.1s that we need to remove the port engine. The Galley and flooring are covering what would be the port side engine hatch in the floor and does not appear to be removable. The salon has a raised dining area with the aft cabin below it. There is a bulk head directly aft of the engine so it cannot go to the rear.

Any ideas? anyone been here before?

Thanks
Jeff

View the latest post 466 AC control panel location.

I have a model year 2006, 466 motor yacht with the external ac units (one over the wet bar, one under the dash) My question: where is the control panel for the under dash unit? The control panel for the unit over the wet bar is in plain site. I have looked all over the bridge and cannot find a control panel for the under dash unit. And yes the ac circuit breaker for the unit is under the dash is in the ac panel.!
