Post New Carver owner 1998 350 Mariner

Hi, I'm a new Carver owner 98 Carver 350 Mariner. Just wanted to say hi and I love the Carver. I've owned 5 boats in my life (3 Chaparrals) and the Carver is a beauty.

I was wondering if any one knows anything about the AC units. I think there might be a ducting problem because I feel cool air coming up by the pilots chair. Any body have ideas on how the ducting is set up?

Post 83' 3207 AC question

Hello all. I'm straightening out some rigs on a recently purchased 3207 aft cabin. My boat AC water feed has a single seacock with one pump. After the pump the plumbing tee's into two, each feeding one AC unit. Should there be two pumps or is this the OEM set up? Seems the forward unit gets most of the water.

Post Engines smoking but running well

Hey All,

So I finally got the boat out. It worked rather well however it was smoking quite a bit. I kept a close eye on the temp and the oil pressure, but both were consistent and good.

I did have 5 year old gas in the tank so that may be my whole problem, just not sure. Anyone have any ideas?

I also found I have a alternator problem on the port engine but there is no rush to fix that.

Post Rotation

So we've been doing everything to our boat, trying to bring it back to life. Have not fired the engines yet.

When we bought her, she indicated less than 300 hours. Before I bought it, I pulled the plugs and used a borescope to check the inards. Also pulled the valve covers and checked from there as well. The engines were obviously winterized properly because everything looked like new. Just a little surface rusting.

I did pull the distributors last year, hooked up a mechanical oil pressure gauge, ...

Post New Carver Owners

My wife and I have owned sail and power boats most of our lives. We just purchased a 1997 Carver 325 Aft Cabin. This is our first "big" boat and we are really excited. Last week I (accompanied by a good friend who is an experienced Captain) brought the boat from it's former home in Cape Coral, FL to it's new home in New Smyrna Beach, FL. The trip across the state via the Okeechobee Waterway was interesting and enjoyable. We live in New Smyrna Beach, and plan to cruise the ICW to our hearts conte ...

Post New guy on Georgian Bay Ontario Canada

Hello, I've been boating for since I was a kid, owned sail and power of different brands.

We just bought our first larger boat it's a 1988 3807 carver aft cabin.

Absolutley love our cottage on the water, Georgian Bay has tons of places you can go in these waters.

I will post a photo of our boat as soon as I can figure out how. I do plan in posting questions and being active as time allows. Hope I can assist others if I can and look forward in getting suggestions or help too.

Thank you.

Grant

Post Boat will not steer, wheel spins freely

HI all, been reading through forums and cannot find an answer. the wheel spins to the left or right infinately and no control of rudder. I checked the bilge to see if anything looked detached. The bar that typically moves back and fourth does not move with spinning of the heel. In the bilge I saw what looked like a hydralic cylinder (similar look to what swings doors back on a screen door) as welll as what looked like a bleeder line similar to what I have seen in car brake lines but have not h ...
