View the latest post New possible 3063 owner

(fixed type-o)
Hay all, glad to find this forum.
I'm looking at purchasing a Santiago 3063. I'll be looking it over soon but wanted to see if anyone had specific things I should look at. It is known that the starboard engine has some cut out issues. I think that's going to be the shift interrupt switch or just adjustments. There may be some issue with the exhaust manifolds also but I'm not sure what and there could be new manifolds that come with it.
The boat has not been used for a while and did sit in the water under a covered dock for a year+ and is now on the hard for the last few months. I do have some concern there could be freeze damage but I'm not exactly sure where to check on the engines or anywhere else.
Thanks for any info

Marc

View the latest post Staying connected at sea

Hey
I’ve been using an eSIM to get mobile data on my phone when out on the Carver. Saves faffing about with swapping SIMs and paying stupid roaming fees. You can pick a plan for the country you’re in and how long you’re away, and sometimes there’s a decent esim discount if you time it right. Proper handy when the marina Wi-Fi is rubbish or non-existent. Only thing is, signal can be a bit patchy depending on where you are. Had to fiddle with the antenna a bit on my boat to get a decent connection, especially out past the coast or behind an island. Anyone else doing this on their cruises? How do you make sure you get a decent signal on your boats?

View the latest post 506 Motor Yacht Advice/Information

I'll preface this by saying I do plan to comb through the forum to read up on as much as I can, but also want to ask for any and all advice on the 506 - model year changes, things to look out for, common issues, engine manufacturers, etc.

As a kid, I grew up with a Silverton 402 and many of my favorite childhood memories are with the family are on that boat. By the time I was a teenager, I was very confident handling that boat in tight spaces. Now with a wife and young kids of my own, we've already started to scratch the itch with a Rinker 246 Bowrider that we trailer, but also want to get into overnighting like I did years ago. We really like the layout of the 506 MY. So, we're keeping a lookout for a freshwater example (we're on Lake Erie). All things considered, summer '27 would probably be the most optimal timing for us (our kids are still diaper-aged), however, that could get pushed forward or back depending on a variety of factors, including finding the right boat. So, have the time now to try to become as much of an expert on the 506 as I can be without owning one.

Thanks in advance!

View the latest post wiper arms for a carver voyager

Hello, I am a new owner to a 2008 52 voyager. The boat wiper motors work but the wiper arms are missing. I didn't think they would be so hard to find. Does anyone know the part # for the arm and were i could buy one?

View the latest post Attachment(s) Crack in Transom

Hello!

Looking at a Carver 350, only photos, not in person yet. One of the photos shows a decent crack in the transom below the rub rail, starboard side corner. Does this look bad to you, or would it be a fairly easy fix?

View the latest post Attachment(s) Water damaged plywood

The port side salon windows in my 1996 325 aft cabin lost their seal and water came into the walls. There is some damage to the floor plywood and the board inside the wall between where the fuel vent is and where according to my carver manual an optional battery can be placed. The picture below (not sure why it is rotated, can’t fix) shows the board without the white ring. I am removing as much of the damaged wood as I can and drying the area out with fans. The other side of board has the foam pads, maybe insulation.

Is this board necessary?

My plan is to remove as much of the damaged wood as possible, dry it out, treat for mold, epoxy the floor plywood. Has anyone ran into a similar situation, any and all tips are appreciated.

Thanks,
Drew
