View the latest post Navigation light pole

Hello friends:

BLUF - 1987 Carver 3297, where can I get a new 3 prong navigation pole, the lightbulbs are out but the top cover is missing allowing elements to get inside. I would like a new one and not just a quick fix.

Thoughts?

Kindly,
v/r,
Stephen

View the latest post Back up camera

I’m considering adding a camera to the stern of our 445 to assist in single-handedly getting the boat in the slip. Any recommendations on a camera set up? Thanks in advance.

View the latest post I think Carver boats are just awesome!

Hello Forum,

I think I told you my 1987 3297 is my first boat, ever. Trying to figure out why the negative reviews online? I get a lot of compliments from my neighbors at the Marina who own Meridian, Silverton and a few other “higher” priced boats etc. who say they think my boat is a very good, reliable brand yet, there are some haters that say Carver doesn’t make good boats. I get it, it’s the Internet but still….my boat has held up well and I’m out there every weekend, cleaning, restoring and polishing to make it the best she can be.

Is it just the 3297 that has a bad wrap…I think it’s a phenomenal vessel and get a lot of compliments.

Hope everyone is well. Anyone is the Dallas, Texas area on here?

Kindly,
v/r,
Stephen

View the latest post Isolation valves for winterizing

I was having trouble with some leaky fittings and over pressure valve on my hot water heater last season so I plumbed in an isolation set up in order to work on it when I had time. Winterizing the water systems on the boat this year was a bit of a pain. I know some people put winterizing valves on their fresh water systems to bypass the tank when running anti freeze through the system. Do any of you have a set up like this for your ac or head? I’m definitely adding one to the fresh water system in the spring and am thinking about doing the other systems as well to avoid climbing around in the bilge trying to disconnect old hoses and fittings.

View the latest post Attachment(s) Carver Wood Stain

Greetings,

I have a 2005 Carver 36. I pulled out the TV in the Salon and in its place I put the electronics for my solar panels. I would like to build a door similar to the 120 and 12V panels doors on the same piece but I have not found the particular shade of stain Carver used. Does anyone know the name? Thanks!

Dan

View the latest post Attachment(s) Bilge pump switch lights always on?

Howdy all! Just bought a 2004 366 ac and working through so many WTF items but this one has me and my surveyor stumped. As you see in the first pic, at the helm, the bilge pump lights are on all the time. Pumps work and can be activated by the same switches, just the lights are always on. Previous owner said they’ve been that way for 9 years…maybe but I have to think the bulbs would have burned out a long time ago if so. Second pic shows all the lights with the dimmer up. No change with the switches actually on.
This can’t be right, right? Shouldn’t they only light up when activated or with the dimmer up?
