View the latest post Attachment(s) Potable Water Pump Continuously Running

Have an issue with the pump running continuous periodically. At times it will pressurize and shut off though. I checked for leaks and have tightened all clamps/connections I can get at.

Pump is likely original Shurflo, so would it be safe to assume this is a pump issue?

View the latest post Westerbeke Genset

I have drawn the line in the sand as to what I will spend. To get my 6.5CZ Kohler back to reliability. Has anyone switched. Out to a Westerbeke? I have a 390CMY vintage 1994, and wish to keep in same place. Between the engines. I understand they are pretty quiet versus the dinosaur I have? Any idea on pricing? Also, the 6.5 does what I need, but any advantage to going bigger. Don’t want to break thee bank, but need to start planning now Thanks in advance.

View the latest post Bottom paint - paint props and rudders.

Hello all,
I just spent quite a few hours over the last week fixing blisters and then bottom painting the boat (what fun!)
My question is should I paint the props and rudders? It looks like they may have been painted before. They are off the boat now for transport and I cleaned them completely.
Looking around the marina I am in, it seems to be a 50/50 split on painting them.
What say you all?

View the latest post Late 80's 3297 Mariner

My first post to this forum. I am going through pre-purchase inspections and survey on an '88 32' Mariner. Mercruisers with about 1600 hours use on Georgian Bay. I would appreciate all tips and advice about problem areas to be on the lookout for.
Thanks for all responses. George

View the latest post 3207 Head Seacocks

Hi Everyone,

Just picked up my new to me 1989 3207 Aft and am having trouble with both heads.

It doesn’t seem like any water is getting to the heads, they basically explode in your face when you pump (both are manual, one a Jabsco' the other not sure), can some one help direct me to the location of the Seacocks, just want to make sure they are open before any next steps are taken. Thanks

View the latest post Attachment(s) Kohler 6.5 on 1994 390CPMY shuts doen

Her is a stumper for me. My Genset has always been very reliable. However, today, it shut down suddenly. It restarted after a few moments, and ran for a short time, and shut again. Surges when first starting and then smooths out. I checked fuses, and also connections. Plenty of water flow out the exhaust. I tried a spray of gas from a spray bottle to restart but crank and then no start. I have replaced the capacitor last year, and again, no issues. Changed the gas filter. I use a Quick Silver 35-802893Q01, so plenty of capacity. Voltage at 120. It just cuts out and dies.

I had marina replace the anti siphon fitting over the winter just because it was 26 years old. Happened whether on aft tank or main, although I believe it only draws off of port tank. nines run fine. It just died after 6 minutes of run, and restarted like nothing happened. Any ideas??? :drunk:

View the latest post Attachment(s) WHAT a day on Shakedown cruise.

Sorry about this but have you ever heard of this what is in the photo? I got it today. Left dock and fueled up. No start at fuel dock. Dead starting battery however fired right up at slip. Switched to the house bank and off we went. So much for less than a foot and slight gusts to 20 mph. More like a full fledged gale. Made it 2/3 way to Cleveland Light and turned around after taking water over the bridge. Pulled into Kingman’s and took a mooring for the night. Put a meter on the battery and yep was at 10.35 volts. All others weee good. However it took a lot of water while others were fine. SO I started the genset and ran the charger for a bit and shut off. Checked battery and it was dropping back to 10v land pretty wuick. So I went to fire up the genset again and it spun but no start. Spark? Yes good spark. Wiring all good and finally checked the air filter and it was a tad dirty but plenty of flow. Added some combustible liquid to the intake and sane. Changed gas filter no change. Spun and no fire. Whacked the gas on/solenoid and same. Nothing. Finally pulled a plug wire and great spark and it seemed to want to fire. Plugged in other wire and she started! I put air filter in and no start. So removed filter and put housing back and fired away. Gotta love those old Koehler 6.5’s. Oh. The picture. Kinda sesnsituve and age appropriate but oh so true in this case. Feel free to edit and remove but we have all been there. Today was my turn.

View the latest post C37 Radar cable run hardtop to helm??

Hey Carver Fans!

Been here reading for a year or so, and have found everything through search (thanks!!) until now.

My 2015 C37 needs an electronics upgrade. For some reason Carver put Raymarine in with Mercury Vessel view, so it isn't "really" integrated. No waypoint tracking to the axium autopilot as VesselView's exclusive deal for the nmea2000 gateway (for waypoints) is with Simrad only.

Anyway, I'll be adding new Simrad screens and radar, so here's the question.....

Does anyone know the cable route from the hardtop to the helm on a C37 ??? (and how hard/easy it is?)

Thanks!!!

Lima

View the latest post Refridgerator

We recently bought a Carver Riviera and it does not have a fridge.

Anyone have a recommendation for a good 12 v fridge? The space for the fridge is about the size of a big mini fridge.
Thank you!

Pete
