1991 Carver RPM Guages

Postby KEND » November 2nd, 2015, 6:16 pm

I am looking for 2 1991 Carver or equal rpm guages to replace 2 that fogged up on the inside. I have not been able to find equal replacements and do not really want to replace the senders. Is there anyone that may have them available online or that will ship to Michigan that sells older parts ? Thanks for any help.

Senders for a tach? Usually the tach simply takes the pulses off the coil. On the back of the instrument there is usually a small switch for selecting 4, 6, or 8 cylinders. You should be able to use any tach.

If you want the original look, I believe they were Teleflex brand. Ebay could be your friend.

Another thought might be to install FloScan instruments, that have the tach built in. Install fuel flow senors and connect to your GPS. Great fuel conservation tool, and great for synchronizing your rpms.

btw - one of my residences is on the water in Trenton across from Grosse Ile. Maybe we will meet someday!
Welcome aboard!
Thanks
Fred

The originals were usually Teleflex International series. They all are about the same - senders are not really used on tachs - they take a pulse reading off the coil or off the tach connection on the ignition unit. There are several models of these tachs - you need to match the index color (blue or red usually). eBay is a good place to find them: http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R4 ... r&_sacat=0
