Magnun Energy invertor system

Postby Flinty » September 6th, 2017, 12:11 pm

the invertor system came with the boat, and I know little about it, quit working a week ago (while using electrical appliances) "fault mode" is displayed on remote monitor. researched on You Tube and read Manuals and unable to get unit out of fault mode and power back on. Battery bank was/is chaarged (8x 6v batteries) 12v system. any suggestions? Thanks JJ

I would check the battery cables from the batteries to the inverter to make sure there's no corrosion. Looks like it sensed a "Low Battery" condition at some point and locked up.

How do you know the batteries are charged?

I would also look for the power lines going into the system and shut them all off for a few minutes, then power back up. On that display, I'd expect the "PWR" LED to be lit if it had incoming power.

km1125, thanks for suggestions, agree no power coming in to inverter. all cables inspected and look fine (System only 14 months old) as for battery bank output, took meter reading from cables coming off battery bank and going to inverter, reads 13.4-13.7 Volts?
The picture above is taken when system hooked up to shore power, ie fault indicator light on and panel display. when shore panel unplugged entire panel dead.... no lights/ no panel display........NO POWER.

It should have a fuse or breaker on the 12v line. did you check that?

+1
There should be circuit protection somewhere along the positive conductor.

went to the boat this weekend after learning how to test the 300 amp fuse, turned out fuse was blown, replaced and system up and running, thanks for the help.
