Installing New Depth Transducer - Mariner 360

Postby Barnaclebill » March 13th, 2018, 3:54 pm

Has anyone Installed a new Depth Transducer for a Mariner 360? I am trying to figure out how to fish the cable from the bilge to the bridge. I am replacing a old analog unit with a shoot thru the hull digital one.

Well good luck with this! I would start by looking around the helm to see where ur shift and throttle cables come up, most likely ur going to have to follow them back to the bilge.

Sorry haven't put one like that in, but I have the 01 version of your boat.....there appears to be two ways from the engine room...thru the bilge centre , there is a wire run and the other would be up the stbd side.....each one of those will go up to the bridge......not sure if yours is the new layout ??...if the old design, go up behind the entertainment centre stbd side.....good luck man........ :beergood:
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.

When you do pull, pull an extra chord with your wires to make it easier next time you need to run something
Thanks

I have a 98 Mariner 350. I ran the cable from the far starboard side up to the bottom of the arch.
From the arch, there is a tube heading forward, then under the walkway, over the top of the entertainment and then up through a hole in the bridge floor. yours probably different but the tube located at the bottom of the arch was the key for me.

If the wiring is still there for the old unit you could cut the old wire at the transducer and tape the new wire to the old and with someone down below and someone up topside feed and pull the new wire up to the bridge.

I helped a guy do just that a few years ago. You will need to have 2 people to make it work.
