Battery Monitors

Postby Midnightsun » January 12th, 2020, 3:01 pm

Let's talk battery monitors. Have tried some over the years but never really got into them. A little too much fiddling around IMHO. They get out of sync and do not tell the entire story. Have been mostly relying on a good volt meter to know where I sit. May want to go back after seeing this though. Many manufacturers of these around, Victron, link, Blue Sea to name a few.

Came across this unit that seems to do everything on its own without much intervention. Does bot SOC and SOH, monitors 1 current and 2 additional voltages out of the box. http://www.balmar.net/sg200-battery-monitor/

Here is a very interesting video on the unit.
Cheers, Hans
