That pump should be under that waterline, right? If so, I'd do some digging before I'd use PVC. That's a general "no-no" - to use PVC below the waterline.

I haven't done enough digging to ever find out if this is just a myth or if there is actual basis to it, so I would check around first.

That's the OEM installation I do believe, why change it? Just unscrew it from the pump and reuse it.

I am planning on reusing it hope it wont break or crack when removing old one. Also i talked to seller, it is not sealed. So it is not ignition proof. But neither is the original one. One i purchased is identical in every way to the original. Also i have no gas or fumes in engine room. Always turn the fan on when i get to boat before switching anything on. So i believe we are all good to go on replacing.

Funny thing, I have not yet installed the new motor, but took it out this weekend to gas up and do a season opening trial. everything was smooth. Came back to dock and just tried to turn on ac water pump and it works :) But I will still replace it soon with the new one, as you can see from the pictures posted earlier, it is in very bad shape with all the rust. I think I also need to get the sea cock replaced for it, as the handle is missing and is not opening closing properly... Need to get it hauled out and that's pricey...
