Water pump problem

Postby Ssmullugan » March 18th, 2018, 6:07 pm

New Carver 326 aft cabin owners... Water pump not working at all. Like its not getting power? Was fine in the am for dishes and showers. Turned the generator on mid day, then realized we didnt have water pressure and pump wasnt kicking on. Breakers on. No leaks. Tank is half full. Is there a fuse in the actual pump? Could powering the generator tripped/caused some surge?

Heh there....try tapping the end of the pump where the lines go in and out...there is a pressure switch in there that sometimes gets stuck.....if you have a multi meter check power at the pump if the tapping is no love....make sure its breaker on the 12 volt panel is reset.Unless someone has added a fuse I don't believe there should be one on the pump......good luck hope you get it .
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.

Starting genny should have nothing to do with the 12 volt fresh water pump. Check as Bud suggest. Could be a stuck or bad pressure switch or the pump has just gone bad. If you have to replace it make sure u get the same gallons per hour as the old one is rated for. Your batteries are on right?
