Water Heater Woes

i turn off everything but battery charger and fridge and maybe icemaker depends on it sometimes. for all those that unplug the boat or turn everything off including battery charger are you shutting your seacocks too? i might paranoid but i also had a boat at our marina sink due to battery dying while bilge pump was keeping her afloat. if not shutting the seacocks have you thought that if a hose or shaft seal suddenly lets loose that your bilge pumps could run the battery down pretty quick at least if the battery charger was on it could buy some more time before she settles on the bottom or someone can be reached to help.
