Postby Gary Rose » August 28th, 2019, 10:39 am

I am a new Carver Owner I bought A 2000 356 Aft Can anyone tell me if the Shower Drian goes in to the tank on does it flow through a through Hole and out. My Regal always emptied through a through hole and out. It just seems that the black tank fills really fast ????????

Usually they drain into a shower sump which automatically discharges overboard as it fills up. I can see it going into a grey water tank if you have one but not the black water tank.

You might want to move this thread to a more appropriate section such as "ac/heat, plumbing & sanitation" to get more responses.

goes in a shower sump and overboard as viper said, black water tanks only 30 gallon. So only about 20 flushes and the red light is going to come on at the tank watch.

Ok, you have 2 sump pumps, both located under floor panels in front of the head doors. The aft one, you need to pull up the carpet. Pull it forward starting at the night stand. Underneath the carpet is 3 panels, 2 big and 1 small. The more forward big one has the sump underneath.

I strongly suggest at least once, maybe twice a season, clean out your sumps as they can get nasty.

Also, if you use the shower, leave the shower running with clean water after your done showering until your ready to leave the head. You want to flush all the soaps out of the shower sump, which will plug up and cause smells if you don't.

Does any one know where is located the sump pump on a 1999 Carver 530? After we shower, the bilge in the engine room gets flooded.
Thanks for any info.

Welcome to the forum. :captain2:

Have no clue where it is but you will be looking for a shower sump which is most likely fouled and needs a good cleaning and/or some parts replaced. One thing almost for sure is it will be located in the bilge not too far from your shower drain probably accessed by lifting an access hatch under your carpet. These sumps are regular maintenance items such as at least annually where they require a thorough cleaning. You are looking for something which looks like this. The video is pretty good as it really explains what the sump does and how it works.

They are usually under a floor hatch close by. If you don't see the aft sump under the floor, look under the bed.

Welcome to the forum......also double check you have the shower switch on at the panel or the sump won't operate.....
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.
