Do you have the grey poly tubing for water lines?

I can't speak directly to the 3697 though, as to the access.

There was a big class-action lawsuit against the manufacturers of that pipe. After years it will weaken and start cracking. I had it on my boat and every year I would end up with another leak... sometimes big and sometimes small. I had one pinhole in a "T" fitting that was driving me nuts. I couldn't actually see the water leaking out of it but kept getting water on a bulkhead. It wasn't until I got my head in there to look close and felt the spray on the BACK of my head. The leak was about 1.5' away and such a tiny stream you couldn't see it.

My advice is to start looking for ALL the access points to where the plumbing runs and create a little diagram, then replace it ALL with something like PEX. It's not that hard of a job and will make your life much more pleasant the rest of the time you own that boat.

Keep asking on here though, as I'm sure someone else has (or had) that model and can give you very specific advice on how to get stuff apart. Also post some pics because it may be very similar or identical to other boat models and folks with those boats could weigh in as well to help.

Just a question. I have a friend with a boat of that vintage. He had what he thought was a plumbing leak behind the bathroom wall. I looked at it and discovered it was his transom shower. Is your transom shower in this area? Not sure of the styling of your boat, but his was an aft cabin.

I would post a message in the general forum looking for other 3697 owners. Sometimes folks don't wander down to some of the subforums unless there is a reason.

My link to this site goes directly to "new posts" therefor I see everything new which is posted without wandering all over the place looking, just a suggestion. ;-)

On my 3297 it’s in the saloon closet. There’s a panel that sticks out, and you remove that panel and it gives you access to the back of the shower faucet.
