How to get to the aft Vacuflush on a 41 CMY

Postby jspin101 » June 5th, 2020, 8:55 pm

Happy beginning of summer, finally!
My vacuflush kicks in intermittently. Still holds water in the bowl and works fine just starts pressurizing randomly. I called Dometic (it's a VG 12VDC) and they said it's probably the duck bills. I have a panel in the aft stateroom fwd locker thats roughly 18' h x 12" w. I can see it through the wood frame. it looks like there's fiberglass hood around it.I The unit is fwd of the bed so I took off the mattress and there doesn't seem to be any type of access at all under there except for the AC.
Any ideas would be welcome besides breaking out the sawzall. :banghead:
Thanks,
Happy boating.

Update: I was able to get to the vacu-flush by removing the mattress border (keeps the mattress from sliding off the bed frame) around the bed. Not sure why they used 1/4 in bolts and nuts, about 15-ish of them. Then, removing the panel forward the bed under the night stand. Not a lot of wiggle room but was able to get at the 4- duckbills. I changed them and all is good. Happy flushing!
