Mounting the compressor to the pan

Postby Oldnslow » February 13th, 2023, 2:05 pm

I have a 16k marine air that I believe someone has replaced the compressor on. The pan that the compressor sits on has 3 studs to secure the compressor. This compressor is only attached to 1 of the 3 studs. Seems the replacement compressor had a different footprint and someone didn't address this. The rubber isolators on the compressor seem to be in good condition. I need to try and secure it, it's really loud!
My idea is to fill the isolators with silicone and then run a self tapping screw with a washer down through the isolators.
Anyone have a different idea?

That would work but I would consider thru-bolting or install threaded inserts that get riveted into the pan. Then you'd just use bolts from the top, through the isolators to fasten each end down into the fixed inserts.
