Sink use intention?

What is the intended use for this divided sink? There is a plexiglass divider which allows water to go underneath.

Just guessing as I am not sure of the size, but a place to put ice for mixed drinks?

Good question, perhaps slosh control.......just a guess...... :popcorn:
