4 golf carts will give out a total of 420+AH which is a decent size bank suitable for most boaters. The biggest advantage is most golf carts are true deep cycles with thick plates and not the usual thinner plates found on most dual purpose deep cycles.

A telltale of a wannabe deep cycle is a CCA rating. Any true deep cycle I have had experience with does not have a CCA rating since it is not designed for cranking purposes. If it does have a CCA rating then it is most likely a dual purpose deep cycle which means it is not a deep cycle nor a starting battery but somewhere in between. In other words a compromise that will make it work in both scenarios without excelling in either.

Here is a Trojan 6V, notice there is no CCA rating. The AH rating is more elaborate however the one we are interested in the the 20hr version. https://www.trojanbattery.com/products/ ... ed-battery

Here is the Costco version, notice it does not have any CCA rating either. https://www.costco.com/interstate-6-vol ... 76406.html

All this being said I have not had great luck with quad 6 volts or even dual L16's. Most likely because we use too much power for this size setup. In case you don't know what a L16 is, it's the equivalent of 2 standard 6v golf carts in one battery. Just a lot taller and twice the weight. https://www.trojanbattery.com/products/ ... ed-battery

435AH is only 220 usable AH in comparison to the 900 usable lithium bank I have now. Like I said, we consume way to much power and do require more stored juice than the average boater. ;-) The rate of charge on the Lithium is simply amazing in comparison to lead acid. Next time we anchor out Pep, just plug into Midnight Sun. :-D

Damm straight I will. Trying not to use our genny were not allowed. I’ll reformat my Victron with saying 320ah. Will post results again. What a topic!!!!! It’s like a refresher coarse for my mind!

This forums is wonderful, helps us all regarding anything and everything regarding mostly boating and then some. Have seen a lot of forums but this is really the only one I really enjoy. Informative, polite and even funny at times.

Do keep in mind you want to try to avoid going below 50% SOC unless you know you will be going to your slip or plugging in the next day or so to extend the longevity of your bank.

Will do, I'll post a photo of the reconfiguration with the monitor as well.

Checked all the connectors again. All fantastic. Got the Ah rating for these batteries. 90AH each. So I reset the monitor from 760 to, yes, 360. Now I’ll get a real diagnostic on the stats of these batteries. Thanks to all for you patience . Looks like I’ll have to set up a separate battery bank to help out with fridge. After the monitor stabilized, it went 1 day 16hours.

I'm also wondering why you're only seeing 12.47VDC on the battery banks if they're at 97% SOC. That sounds a bit low. What do you get at 100% SOC?
