GFI plugs in Master Stateroom

Postby LoveAndLuck » June 21st, 2017, 11:11 pm

Our GFI plugs in the stateroom have popped, and we can not get them to reset. Anyone else run into this problem? All other plugs on the vessel are operational as well as all other electronics. :banghead:

Our boats are very different, but if water gets into my aft deck receptacle, it will trip my gfci in the aft stateroom.

Go to Home Depot and get a new GFI receptacle. You could just have a bad one. Or you have an in line issue. Are they OEM?

The GFI outlet will be hooked up to other outlets sharing the same circuit. That way, the other outlets in that circuit ground fault protected as well. So a fault in any of the regular outlets in that circuit will trip the CFI and as long the fault exists, it won't allow you to reset. GFIs don't last forever and start to nuisance trip after a while especially in our environment. As suggested, the easiest thing to do is replace it. If it still trips, you have a fault in that circuit or an appliance plugged into it.
