Adding House Batteries?

Postby Marty » August 16th, 2018, 6:38 pm

Anyone have experience on adding house batteries and configuration? I have a 326 Aft and currently I have 2 house batteries (that double as Starters) and an isolated battery for the generator. I would like to add house power and have separate starter(s) but am looking for guidance as to what I should likely add. Not looking to run coffee maker, microwave etc off the house, but wouldn't mind being able to run a small tv in addition to lights etc.

Thanks in advance,

Do a quick search on the forum..... there are a few threads with explanations and pics of exactly what you want to do......multiple 6volt battery bank and separate start...
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.

I would go with dual 6v golf cart batteries. Best bang for the buck for sure. Costco Canada has them at a decent price. Looking to hook them up in series like this to give you a 12v output.

i use an inverter for several things one of the biggest things that will help with your battery usage is swapping all light bulbs you can to leds if you havent done this already.
