Lighting for your boat/Led's

Good morning all,
Have any of you modified or added lighting to your yachts? I had some on my radar arch and maybe 1 in the cockpit. It is way under-lighted. I dug all around the Internet looking for waterproof lights but they all seem very expensive until....I found the led's. It appears that you can make your boat very cool at night with these led lights at a relatively cheap cost. We'll see if it works out.

I just ordered 17 very small LEDs ( a combo of 4 each fused together) and 3 bigger flood lights. I am putting 2 floods in the radar arch and 1 in the cockpit. All of the other LEDs I am putting in the gunwales, the engine compartment, the storage boxes, the radar arch, the cockpit, and around the bridge.

I replaced all of the courtesy lights w/led bulbs and have been looking around at replacements for the main 12vdc salon lights. There are a lot of options out there, some are inexpensive, some not so much. I have also been thinking of putting rope lights around the fly bridge for some added visual interest.

Very cool. There are definitely a lot of options. My boat hardly had any courtesy lights. Kind of weird.

For our kitchen at home, I installed LED strips from a seller in China. They came with remote controls and can make them any color, flashing, dimming etc. I bought maybe 40 feet and three controllers and only cost about 100 bucks. Very inexpensive, and a high quality silicone rope, very flexible, not more than 3/16" thick.
You can even buy a receiver that "hears" music playing and makes the lights dance to the music.
May be a nice thing to do on the bridge.

That sounds very cool. I seen one of the devices that flashes to the beat of the music for only $13 but this particular one had bad reviews and since I still do not have a radio on the bridge I thought I'd wait. Maybe soon!
