I have a 4207 carver has anyone ever put varnish on the wood to make a brighter shine

I am assuming you mean the Teak in the interior cabin. Factory used a product from Mohawk called "pour and wipe". I was able to order a quart on-line. Take some fine sandpaper or a sanding sponge to clean up any place where there is darkening due to hands touching it, then wipe on several coats of the finish - will look like new.
