New Nav Package

Postby Sadey » March 11th, 2019, 9:59 pm

So I am almost done with the installation. Removed an old Raymarine RL80C plus plotter/radar. Two Clarion radio heads, one in the cabin and one on the bridge. Then Reinstalled:
All Raymarine
ES128 12” MFD with Chirp Sonor and Navionics Platinum as the master
ES127 12” MFD as the slave
EV1 autopilot with a 70R control head
1 Fusion MS RA770 Radion Head in the cabin controllable from the MFDs or iPhone
6 new 6.5” JL Audio speakers and 2 Bose outdoor speaker for the aft deck
All backbone connected
4 Lumishore SMX53 white and blue transom lights.
Now hopefully I’ll have enough allowance left over for gas to go enjoy all the geewiz

Now for the question. Should I replace the engine instrument dash panels to match the new panel?

Thank you for the help!

Almost forgot, also added a Ray260 VHF with AIS not pictured because that goes in Thursday if I don’t get a honey do. I know all of this is way overkill but why not.
Thank you for the help!

As far as overkill, it depends on how you boat. Last year I kept forgetting to take my Raymarine A97 MFD to the boat. It never left the house. As I didn't venture into any unfamiliar waters all year I didn't need it. If I planned any cruises into new areas, I am sure it would have been on the helm where it belongs!

PS, my Sirius radio made it to the boat in march of last year. So I guess it depend on your priorities.

What backbone did you end up using ?
