I cannot get the hard hose on. The hose that came off had no wire. I tried silicone spray dish soap, hot water and heat.

It's a difficult task for sure. I assume you've chosen the correct size hose. Sounds like you've tried all the usual remedies to slide the hose on though. It's a PITA and more work but sometimes the remedy is to remove something else further up or down that will allow you to install the hose then work your way up. Often just to replace the last piece of hose at the hull, I've had to unfasten muffler to make more room, or engine exhaust elbows to ensure I can get long enough hoses in there for a proper fit. Heat, dish soap, and muscle up and down and turning the hose works best for me. You should also know that because of the way the wire is wound, it's easier to turn the hose one way than it is the other. Turning it the wrong way will actually tighten the hose more and make it more difficult to install. It's not a 10 minute job for sure.
