Welcome to CarverYachtOwners.com!

It's always confused me as to why no one ever started a carver specific message board, so here it is.

I hope you all enjoy it!

Just wanted to introduce ourselves. My wife and I currently own a 2002 Carver 396. I have owned 4 other carvers in the past
20 years of boating and the Carver we have now is by far the best one yet. I can easily see us retiring with this one because it
is the perfect size to go just about anywhere we want with plenty of room and comfort. I am glad to see a Carver forum going
and I am sure this will continue to grow in size because Carver is one of the best vessels out on the water.

We are thinking about adding a bow thruster. If there is anyone reading this forum that has a 396 or a 444 with a bow thruster
and would share any information and possibly some pictures of it's location and any other technical data I would sure appreciate
it. Carver gave the boat yard I deal with some information but the yard told me they need to see a installed one so they know exactly
what they are dealing with. Like location of stringers compared to the thruster motor.

Looking forward to chatting with other boaters with or without Carvers.

Welcome!

Where do you boat?

Why do you believe you need a thruster? I know boaters that have them and have never used them, and others who have a burned a few up because they use them so much.

Practice using only your transmissions and throttles until you've mastered that, and then practice with transmissions and rudder angle. I think you'll find you really do not need a thruster.

The Carver 396 has tunnels which cuts down the thrust when putting the transmissions in reverse. My previous Carver
356 did not have tunnels and there was no need for a bow thruster. Thanks for your response though
