New owner!

Postby Yachterhey » July 21st, 2015, 1:59 pm

just bought a 1988 Carver Santego. Its almost the twin to my last one sans the generator the color. The problems with this one are common and hopefully easy to repair. Where can we purchase new shift cables that are the same length and fit for the boat without first removing the cable? There isnt any visible part number on either cable. Can this boat be upgraded to electric shift? I would be interested in that. Thank you all for any help!

Do you have the owners manual? It should be listed in that. If not, I think Kenny (Ramsport47) has the same boat and should be able to help.

Ours is a 1998, so a completely different boat. The cables typically are labelled at one of the ends with a size and model...they are Morse cables and the size will be in inches rather than in feet. If you cannot find these labels, your owners manual will have them listed, or you can call Carver...they should be able to help

What Kenny said. The number should be at the helm or tranny end. The last three numbers will be the length in inches ie; xxxx144 is 144" or 12 ft.
