Hey everybody! We are an Air Force couple stationed in Charleston, SC. We recently (about a year ago) purchased a 1999 Carver 356 Aft Cabin. We are loving it! We haven't taken a cruise yet, because of my deployments and doing some minor fix-ups on her. She is Makin' Waves--and we are loving the new adventures we will be having with her. So far we have only been up from Hilton Head SC to bring her home and then out on a couple fishing excursions 10-15 miles off the coast. I was very pleased with the boat and have only had 1 real issue so far (bad clutch dampner).

The engines have only 580 hrs on them, but I have been doing some preventative maintenance since she is a 1999 model. So far, I have replaced the injectors on the Port side engine and replaced a few fuses in the DC main panel. I plan on replacing the fuel injectors on the Starboard engine this fall when I return from my latest (and hopefully last) deployment. As well as removing the heat exchangers on both engines. I used to be a Jet engine mechanic in a prior life, so I love to tinker (and save money not paying a god awful amount in labor).

We are on eboatcards if you are near Charleston. I am always looking for advice/help with projects and more importantly we are looking for new friends to share this new found love with! I have been flying for 17+ years and am now ready to get wet!!

Hope to hear from some of you soon!

Welcome to the forum. My '99 404 is similar to your 356 but with the added cockpit and swim platform.

Yes. I have a couple projects lined up. First is to replace the isinglass on the lower deck. I got a reference for a company that will sell the material. I just need to take it to a car fabric shop to have it sewn. The next project will be to replace the fuel injectors on the starboard engine.
