Riviera 2850 drain plugs

Postby tomtomterrific » March 26th, 2019, 6:57 am

Ahoy Mates!

Re-Commissioning my '85 Riv for the first time. Any tips on how top remove the drain plugs?

They are the brass (I think) through hulls, with the 8" "T" handle. They are in tough locations to access, under the aft sink and under the water tank. I can get pliers on them but I can't break them loose. I don't want to twist the handle off.

Appreciate any tips.

Cheers!
Cap't Tom

Try some liquid wrench penetrating oil! Or Coke a Cola! Then put some anticized on them.

You've tried loosening it; try doing the opposite - a little tighter at first. Then looser. Rock it back and forth.
A heat gun from the bottom first. Get it nice and warm.
It may work.

ps - I believe your model designation is 2807.
Thanks
