1989 Allegra 2587

Postby LTD32025 » January 13th, 2021, 4:18 pm

:usa: I acquired this project some two years ago. It is almost ready to float. There are a few more items that need to be addressed.
I need help in locating the sliding door hatch lock for my Allegra 2587. Also I would like to find the enclosure / camper top for it.
Can someone tell me what type of hot water heater was originally installed. There also seems to have been some sort of electrical inverter.

Just a guess, but the water heater was most likely a 6 gallon seaward, same as my 88 montego. The inverter was most likely dealer or owner installed.

Welcome aboard. Can you post a pic of what you are thinking is an inverter? Are you sure it's an inverter and not the battery charger?

The camper top is something you'll want to get custom made by a local canvas guy/gal. They'll come out and make patterns for a precise fit. It'll be pricey.

Welcome to the forum....I agree, canvas work will be custom...that is the best route anyway.
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.

Welcome. Canvas will need to be custom. Shop around though. Huge variance in providers. Lot of retired people do this as a hobby job, but make sure to check on their work. That lock should not be hard to find. It is most likely a Perko. Any decent marine store should have something close. There were no inverters installed at Carver. Not sure that a charger was even available on that model. Good luck. Pics? 8-) er

Thank you folks for respond so quickly to my post.
I am attempting to post pictures of the hatch lock I am trying to find. I am not sure how long it was made by Eberhard, or on how many carver boats it was used.
This was used in a 1989 Allegra 2587.
If anyone would know where I might find one, please let me know.

Welcome Aboard. I believe once you get her in the water it will be worth all the time and effort you put into the project. Have many fine adventures aboard.
