First piece of advise, although it is exciting to get your boat to it's home port asap, check the route for which marinas are open for port of refuge in case the weather takes a bad turn. This time of year is especially unstable, so you may need to duck in for safety in a matter of minutes. Most marinas in our area do not open till May 15. Second, make sure you are aware of condition of the engines, transmissions, etc. There are not going to be many, if any other boats cruising around in the event you need assist. You bought a great boat, but it is over 40 years old. Good luck! Hope it all goes well, but I would wait a bit. Are there any transporters you could hire to move over land? At 80 miles, you are going to burn a minimum of 80 gallons, so that fuel expense is going to be arund $400 anyway. 8-) er
