SF bay area new Carver Owner
I now own a 1986 Carver Santa Cruz 2667 w/ the Mercruiser 260 and Alpha 1 gen 1 Outdrive.
I'm a master mechanic who loves fishing the California coast, and am currently getting my Carver in "ship shape" before it's maiden voyage. Previous owner seemed a little "adventurous" and removed the upper flybridge!! I actually think it'll be worthwhile to use the flat roof for fishing things...
Couple things that I'm currently fixing:
--Trim/tilt leak
--took apart, discovered cracked reservoir, I'll take that easy one all day!
--Steering Helm leak-- Found bad seals, possibly b/c previous owner used incorrect fluid and swelled seals
--Likely will need to rebuild carburetor, we shall see when I go to fire it up

Re: SF bay area new Carver Owner
Earlier today I found the lower transom bolts are corroded pretty bad, probably going to require me to pull the engine and transom assembly unfortunately ...may not have a maiden voyage for awhile...LoL
