Removing wood plate

Postby 3807Guy » January 24th, 2015, 5:41 pm

Has anyone replaced the wood plate that holds down the head. What type of screws are under the plugged holes?

To remove the teak plug, simply get a wood screw and driver and screw the wood screw into the center of the plug.
The plug will climb up the ramps of the screw.
Then go in the hole with a small screwdriver and clean any extra debris out.
Do what you have to do with the board, and upon reassembly, put some adhesive in the hole (just a little) and drive the plug lightly into the hole.
Then after the glue drives, take a clean sharp wood chisel and whittle away the excess.
It will look as new.
Thanks
