I actually don't mind boating 6 months, I love the changing seasons and when spring arrives I'm like a kid at Christmas

I would try to get in earlier but the marina I am located at opens May 1st and runs through October 31st. There are marinas that open earlier but I like where I am located at this time.

I look at it this way. I probably could not afford to boat year round. The 6 months of off season allow me to put $$ aside for the boating season.[/quote]

I am at my boat at least once a week...if 2 weeks go buy I go through withdrawls....I was at the boat Friday, taking care of a few things...it was pouring rain...I don't care...loved it! I would move my family, my job, everything if I could not be on my boat year round!

Once the boat is in the water I am onboard on my off days. When I have plans to head out the only thing that will keep me dockside is thunderstorms. I don't want to be on the water when there is lightning around. Rough waters don't keep me home but lightning does.

I hate you ;-)

I second that. Not only do we have to put the boat away for half the year, we actually only get nice WARM boating weather a quarter of the year!

We launched April 27th and it was chilly! Did our first cruise to a reciprocating club this past weekend. Beautiful cruise over on Friday but it was toques and gloves on the way back

Heck...I swung buy the marina after work today just to make sure my rum bottles are secure....I will do the same thing in November...heck I have a Classic Santa Clause that lives on the boat. He comes out in November and stays out until the love of my life can't stand it anymore and puts him away. Kinda makes me sad. I miss him.
