I bought my 350 Mariner last November needing 2 motors.

If I had to hazard a guess I'm probably $17k into it.

$2k in storage fees
$6k for motors
$500 stainless nuts and bolts
$1500 bow thrusters motor
$450 manifolds and risers
$1500 props and prop shafts repaired and cutlass bearings
$500 genset repairs
$700 New fuel injectors
$200 Misc gaskets
$120 Raw water pumps
$350 fuel pump
$500 alternators/starters
$1800 fuel tank

I don't want to play this game anymore... I probably have another $2k before I'm in the water.

That was $2200.00 last season for me . We went with a Vitrifrigo as a upgrade and have been very happy.

Re: How Much Have You Spent On Your Boat Year To Date

Postby RGrew176 » July 25th, 2016, 12:12 am

The boat mattress I sleep on in the aft cabin is not comfortable at all. I have tried using it since I purchased the boat last August. Of all the nights I have slept onboard I can only count 2 or 3 nights where I slept well. I measured the mattress and it measured 38" wide x 76" long.

I went online and found that a conventional twin mattress measures out at 38" wide x 75" long. Last Thursday after I left the boat to head for home I stopped by a local merchant in Monroe that sells mattresses among other things. I found a nice Serta twin mattress for $97 that plus a $39 charge for delivery and tax came to $141.82.

I am having the new mattress delivered on Wednesday morning prior to my departure for a mini 4 day boating vacation. I am looking forward to sleeping much better aboard, at least I hope so.

My current boating expense total for 2016:

Trouts Yacht Basin Summer Dockage $1,200
Garmin EchoMap 94 sv GPS $1,112.99
Standard Horizon Explorer GX1700 VHF $264.99
Perko (New Cabin Keys) $5.10
Boat Detailing $850.00
NAPA New Battery $98.59
Boaters Value New Shower Head $26.49
Shakespeare 8900 VHF Antenna $178.07
West Marine Oil Extractor $74.19
Boat Insurance Policy $377.00
TV Antenna Extension Mount $42.89
I-LYA Powerboat Regatta Dockage $238.00
New Twin Mattress $141.82

New year to date total $4610.13

I plan to purchase some fuel prior to my departure on Wednesday, probably will get $100 worth.
