who's ready for winter

Postby bud37 » October 4th, 2016, 7:04 pm

Well its Oct. 4th, we are in the parking lot, and just finished compound/polish /wax hull....we are now ready for shrink, will spend the next week getting my back to recover from this....last year at this time we were still boating, had a nice fall cruise around Beausoliel in the middle of Oct.
All being well we are ready to go in the spring with very little drama I hope.So this is how it goes for those of us in the frozen north..... if the dollar gets better maybe even get to Florida again this winter. :beergood: :beergood:
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.

Even though it getting close, i'm not ready. I will hang on until about the first week of November before we pull out for the year. It looks like this weekend will be nice and we can get a couple hour cruise in.

Seems like we just launched her for the season, oh well, there's always next season to look forward to and all winter to plan next seasons trips! On the up side my liver will appreciate a break! LOL

I am going to go on the hard either next week or the week after. I would have stayed in longer but I have the transmission issue that needs to be fixed so coming out soon.

I just put the tarp on her yesterday. We changed our method on the tarp this year so I will have to go for couple of visits just to make sure everything is holding OK. Sad to see her on the hard, wrapped up like a haystack  but it was another good year.

I still have the long weekend to enjoy on her. I come out on Tuesday  A couple of projects for the winter to check off my bucket list:
- install mufflers - no mufflers from OEM on this model, 454s can get pretty loud
- move hot water heater to aft cabin under bed so I can install another 8D in the engine bay
