On San Juan Dreamer's recommendation I called Anchor Marine Underwriters and they gave me a quote for
$995.00 USD which is about a 30% savings over current policy. The coverage is as good as or better then BoatUs/Geico. The deductible is less then 50% of other. The insurance company quoted is 'American Reliable'.
I think that I am gonna pull the trigger and put the money back in my pocket.

First stab at insurance shopping today

For mooring in Marathon, FL, with the ability to cruise to the Bahamas, insurance is $6600/year.

This was with Mariners Insurance.

Progressive will not insure a boat over 35 feet
Marine Underwriters do not touch the Keys.

Thanks, Irma.

Good grief and WOW.....painful.......how close can you get and still get coverage......my first response would be to visit the keys in the car.......good luck man.
