What do you use for a stern anchor / tackle

Postby bud37 » August 13th, 2018, 8:54 am

I dont mean an angry anchor here  ......Ok as the title suggests, do you use a stern anchor and if so what size and type.
I had a real nice small danforth that went with the last boat, the one thing I should have kept, really good anchor for about 9 lbs....so...stories.....
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.

25 lb Mantus anchor with 10' of vinyl covered chain and about 50' of rope. Mostly used during the day when the boat tends to swing or positioning it so the sun is just right.

I still use a folding anchor with nylon rode but, I know I have to let that go. The way Hans is doing it, that's the way it should be done.

I would find that a bit heavy for putting in and out of the dinghy, to set and unset in shallow areas where we are backed in. How are you setting that Hans?
