Wall mounted knife magnet???

Postby amanphoto » September 9th, 2018, 3:40 pm

I'm thinking of installing Wall mounted knife magnet. We like to cook a lot and I don't want my sharp knifes bouncing around in the silverware drawer. I've never used a knife magnet and I'm not sure how secure the knifes stay attached to the magnet while traveling.

Does any one have a knife magnet installed on their boat. How well do they work?

I would not go with a magnet. A friend did that and the knives came loose when he bounced over a big wave. :-O I had an RV that had slots cut in the countertop for knife storage that worked well. A knife block secured to the bulkhead or countertop could work as well.

I have a knife block that sits on the counter. They stay put on rubber feet. My Carver 355 is very stable and the knives have not launched yet, even on coastal adventures.
