Refrigerator/Freezer Replacement

Postby Tireless » June 23rd, 2020, 3:34 pm

Just completed a small DYI project on the weekend. Boat came with a Nova Kool RFS 7501 AC/DC under the counter style refrigerator/freezer. It worked fine, but for the Admiral and I, it was just hard to get into and to see what was in the back, without being on your hands and knee's. To be honest it was a pain in the aft. There was also some waisted space in it after it was packed up.

Decided to replace it with a Vitrifrigo DW210 SS AC/DC drawer refrigerator/freezer. Freezer on the top and refrigerator on the bottom. It is slightly smaller by cubic feet, however, you can pack more in it than the previous Nova Kool. It is a lot more efficient than the older unit.

Luckily it was the same size as the old unit.

I will be selling the Nova Kool unit, in the near future.

My nova Kool just quit on my 41 cmy. I have an issue of extracting tho old one as it is too big to go out the companionway door.
May I ask how you got yours off the boat. Also how deep is the new unit as I only have about 23” to squeeze it through the door.

Thanks

I removed the doors and it fit through the companion way door to the aft deck. See the attached pics from the Broucher.
