Are you able to get that thin ice to form on the top just after pouring?
Nope, not that great at it yet but learning quickly. Small world, both my wife and I also get that leg effect thing you mentioned.

I keep my tequila in the freezer. When you shake a margarita, it doesn't melt much ice!
And its cold and delicious. I'm sure it would work with Gin also.
