396 "wing" door

Postby av8or98 » September 7th, 2022, 7:21 pm

Not sure if I got the nomenclature right. I left my wing door open over night and it hit the dock upright bracing and either floated away or sank. Looking for a new one. Port side. I can find the hardware in the parts book but not the door itself. Any ideas? Thanks in advance!

Have you considered a diver ? Ya never know, maybe the damage not too bad....

^^^ THIS. I had a friend who was a diver and convinced him to come to the marina once. I was amazed at all the stuff he pulled out of my slip and the adjoining ones. He pulled up a canvas that had blown off my boat years before (which I was able to clean up and use for a spare). He also found a half dozen deck brushes, some of which I still use to this day.

I'm a diver and I've looked for it. I also hired a diver to look for it with no luck. I honestly think it floated some distance from the dock before it sank.

Well, that sucks.
I'm pretty sure they are just clear acrylic or Lexan. I think 3/8" thick. Should be able to use the other as a pattern to make a new one.

It's actually the aluminum door that's about 2' x 2'.

Might want to post a pic o the other side so we know what you're talking about. I too was thinking of the larger clear doors that go to the aft deck on most boats with hardtops.

That is what I thought as well.....but see now it is the dock side access door....one on each side. They put them on the later models that had the raised side deck walkways.

Get in touch with The Marine Connection in Fort Pierce Florida, they might just have them from salvaged boats....
