Official Gripe!!!!

Postby feeez » May 2nd, 2017, 9:42 pm

Ok.... so here we are, May 2nd. I have been at the the boat once when the wrap came off and put my canvas up. I just need maybe 3 days to do some "out of the water" jobs and then launch. Rain, Rain, cold, Rain, Cold... more rain and colder.......

By this time last year I had installed my new battery charger, done my bottom paint, washed her down and were in the water.

Boating in Canada............ when please..... it is not fair.

Cheers

He,he....theres the little beer guys.....check out the forecast for the weekend, snow possible .....yup last year we were out on the bay, not this thats for sure.....at your sister marina they only have a few boats in, many still covered......dont have to take cooler to boat, just leave beer out on the deck to stay cold.... :beergood:
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.

Ya this is brutal Fraser...I touched up my bottom paint last Saturday when it was 4C. Came back up on Sunday to install my Seadoo tow unit and it was like being in an Artic Rain Forest - down poured all day. Did nothing, had a drink on my buddies boat - who is one of a handful in the water - and then went home.

I am replacing a wet exhaust hose on Sunday and installing my Seadoo unit and then launching on Monday.

Well, thats the current plan lol....

Just (finally) splashed our boat Friday. On Saturday, between rain showers we loaded it up with the necessities. Planned to make the 25 mile run from winter storage marina to summer marina today. But with a constant 15 knot and 35 knot gusts, along with the rain and 50 degrees F, its still in a slip at the winter marina.

I launched on April 22nd. Unfortunately there has only been one good day to take the boat out since. Better weather times are coming soon.

I am still on the hard and no regrets since this spring has been horrid. Cold and constant rain, in fact there was a state of emergency declared due to flooding a couple of days ago and the army has been brought in. Never seen this much water in the 50+ years we have been here. Today there is a chance of rain with mixed snow! I am scheduling my launch end of month hoping things get back to normal by then. I've been in since last Wednesday and just can't get motivated to commission her because of the weather since. Will be at it this week though.

Well Midnightsun, if the flooding got real bad, you could float it out on your boat. :captain2:
