Is the question "how much do you RUN your boat each week" or "how much time do you SPEND on your boat each week"??

We're pretty much there every weekend from Fri to Sun night and I sometimes go out for a couple days during the week.

We don't run the boat as much as we used to. We used to go for a few hours cruise each weekend, but since we have a good dingy now we spend a lot of time cruising around on that.

I think our was Berkley Breathed that developed a formula that essentially showed that the closer in distance you are to your boat, the less you use it.

When w were in California, we were a good two hours away on a good day. We were there whenever we were not working. We'd go out to the islands or other ports every weekend.

Now the boat is parked right in front of our condo and we use it mostly for music and sitting on at night sipping drinks.
Thanks
Fred

I don't know. I moved my boat closer to home. Last year I was 25 miles away from my boat. This year I am 9 miles away and I am spending more time onboard and getting out a bit more. I know my last season was cut short by the transmission problem. I have had mine out now 6 times away from the dock. Heading out next Monday for a 7 day trip.

In my case having the boat closer has made it easier to access and use. I am using mine more.

The living closer to the boat has played out somewhat the same for us, as Fred there, but in a slightly different manner. When we lived less than 5 min from the Marina we were on the boat more, more short cruises, but just went home to sleep, then we moved the boat an hour away where we spent less time on the boat but always slept on it.
Now years later with a different boat, we are the same,( live 5 min away ) we are on the boat every day just don't sleep there unless we are out anchored or the like.

I work near my boat so I live on it Sunday - Wed. My house is about 60 miles north. Works out well with all the time I have been spending working on it. I get off work, work on the boat, take it out for a test run, etc...

I have been on the water since July 4th. Plan on being home August 4th. I have put 40 hours and 400 miles on it. I have enjoyed it, but will be looking forward to weekends and simple 2 hour cruising for drinks and dinner.
