Crossed the Ambassador Bridge to Canada yesterday. Lots of ice coming down the Detroit River. April 3rd is still my target launch date but weather will determine when I actually do launch this season.

Our ‘new to us’ is currently hung from straps in a covered slip on Georgian Bay, Lake Huron. I ran into the marina manager at the Toronto Boat Show and asked when they stypically start to drop boats in the water. I was surprised to hear that it wasn’t until the few days leading up to the May long weekend. I was originally hopeful that it would be early May so that I would have a couple weeks to perform some shakedown cruises. Oh well, c’est la vie.

Your 410 is hung from straps? Holy Moly. My hull is polished except for about 4 feet of starboard side. Motorhome parked next to me. Can't get at it. I should get out there and start topsides, that would be smart. I don't feel smart right now. Went to boat show yesterday. What is going on? 25 ft Crownline, cabin is closer to a cuddy than anything, I could not fit through the companion way unless turned sideways -------$174,900.00 Boat show special price ONLY $159,500. WHAT? Good thing some smoking products are being legalized in some states. Still rootin' for ya Rick!! 8-) er

Tick tock. You should see the weather here. Sustained 30mph wind, gusting to 55. Snow falling, but not as bad as 50 miles to the east where they expect 12" to 16", again. Temp Monday morning is forecasted at -2F. All roads to our north are ice covered. Church canceled this morning. Still gonna pray your 9 weeks is correct, except for Rick. Hanging on to his plan of April 7 launch. So he has just 6 weeks. Today is a day you can think about when someone on board complains that it is too hot/humid to be at the marina next season. 9 weeks is just 63 days. ARGH!!!!!!!! 8-) er

I look at winter as its way of revitalizing the water ways for the next season.......by the looks of this winter the upcoming season should be fabulous

I have a similar outlook. Winter is a good time for us northerners to save up $$ for the following boating season. Save in the winter and spend in the summer.
