It is great to finally get in. With the high water levels here on the Great Lakes and all the rain over the last 30 days there will be a lot of flotsam and jetsam out there on the lakes and rivers.

Over the years I have seen telephone poles, picnic tables, dog houses, even a dead cow floating in the waters of the Detroit River and Lake Erie. Never know what you are going to see out there.

Rick - now the Hoffa jokes are going to start up again. R U sure that was a cow? I did see a tree attached to a shipping pallet in the bay on my cruise to the marina from Sturgeon Bay. Don't know if the pallet fell in and dragged the tree along with it, or the other way around. :-D

Sadey - Yes, feels grrrreeeaaaatt! When do you start your voyage north? 8-) er

We are targeting June 27thish. We have a slip reserved from June 29th-July 15th at Sister Bay. You think you’ll be around then? Might take a long week or maybe two to get back to Racine. Maybe Escanaba, Gladstone or maybe even your way for a night or two. Just depends on weather and desire.
Thank you for the help!

Yes, I will be around. I would imagine you are going to cut through the channel in Sturgeon Bay, to get into Green Bay. If you are going to take a break there, stop at Harbor Club marina. Nice facilities and just to the west of the bridge you will need to get under. They open up at the top of the hour and then 30 min later. I think that is the only one you will need to lift. Menominee is just 1 hour from there. I am in D-03. They just installed new 50 AMP service on the wall behind my slip. Let them know if you need 50 AMP. Gas is always the lowest price in the bay, so plan your fill for there. Boat US marina, with gas & transient fee discounts. Gladstone is pretty cool. Real tight entrance though, with big rocks on either side. Home of the Friendliest Yacht Club, as the sign says. Real quiet marina. 8-) er

The great news just keeps on coming. Just got a text the power at the marina is on!!!! Yippee! Now I can go do the last remaining ticky tack stuff and I will be done with all the prep work. Just need to pressure wash the non-skid, drain out the launch water from the bilge with a shop vac, and polish the trim around the windows. Then my work will be done here, and the fun part of the season starts with Jimmy Buffet on the stereo, and margarita's on the bridge. :beergood: 8-) er

I have not had my boat out yet. The day I launched it was 42* and misty so I just motored over to my dock and secured the boat. This upcoming weekend is forecast to be in the lower 70's and sunny. May finally get her out of the slip Saturday for the 2019 shake down cruise.

Well, wait for it.... .....Bud and boss.. are in and floating as of 0800......spent the day getting all working and cleaning up....Yahoo

Girls at the marina did a great job on the hull, looks great....they will do the topsides etc later at the slip.

On another note the TSW will be delaying their opening due to high water etc.
The above is strictly my opinion always based on years of doing...remember to support local business , it pays back.

Proud to say I can participate in this thread! The Trent Severn Waterway had to delay its opening due to high water which caused a ripple effect in my plans to move our Carver to our home port. The anxiety was worth it, moved from Port Severn, Ontario to ORILLIA without incident and had the pleasure of this sunrise.
