Parts for 3807 aft cabin

Folks,

I just bought a 1987 3807 aft cabin. I spent the weekend evaluating what I need to clean, fix, replace, etc. Like all boats, the 3807 has some things unique to it. Does anyone have resources for parts like the dome lighting in the aft deck ceiling? How about a place to get the custom fitted bed linens for the fore and aft statesrooms?

Carver changed hands and essentially everything was lost, sold, thrown out, or whatever, but you will get no to little support from Carver on parts. Dealers may be of some help.
Ebay is a great source for modern stuff. Go to boat parts and search "light". You'll probably get enough hits to keep you busy browsing for hours.

As for sheets and linens, if you really need custom, I'd contact a local seamstress with measurements in hand. Seamstress, not mistress! I am guessing Queen size work just fine on your aft bed. Full on forward, or maybe twin.

Sorry to hear that but thanks much for the help. It keeps me from chasing false leads...

I have a '90 3807 up here in Grand Haven and have been updating it for a year now. Let me know what you need and i may be able to help you find it. I don't have any of the lights you need but keep looking. i have redone most of the interior, upholstery and enclosures so getting closer to the boat i want.

Dear gjpslp -

Thanks much! Glad to hear you are nearby! I'm in Whitehall, MI at Ellenwood Landing. I just had keys made for my cabin entry door (couldn't lock the Perko rim lockset on the door - no key!).

My next projects will be to replace the isenglass and canvass, followed by the electronics (all original 1987 vintage - can't read my monochrome GPS - it has faded too far...), then ice machine (wow are they expensive!), then some teak work to undo previous owner's efforts. Come on by some time! We can share stories and a beer!

Boat is in storage for now. Lost the port engine on the way to Muskegon in September. End of my season. Got it pulled and rebuilt and back in prior to storage. I replaced my rear enclosure and the bimini last spring. New soffa and chair this winter. I am also replacing the bridge sides next spring. With my bridge cover i haven't had a need for the side windows. Have made many improvements to the boat. New intake manifolds and carburators are also going on in the spring. trying to get to 1mpg at cruising speed of 12-15 mph.

have a great winter, possibly see you next summer.

Actually, Carver is still of great help on the older boats! If you give them a call, they will likely be able to give you the manufacturer and part number for the part you need. We contact them a lot in the summer. Some times they don't have the info, but usually they do.

I have had pretty good luck contacting Brett at Marquis Yachts (new owners of Carver) for parts like lights, hardware, etc. He is a nice guy and you should give him a call. If you have your hull number handy, he can tell you if he has specific parts pretty quickly.

I'm in Chattanooga and got mine end of July. Running into same issue. Had good luck with Raritan corp for the heads. have been using Defender out of Connecticut for a bunch of stuff and Faucett in Annapolis as well. Teak stuff from Buckwood in Marathon Fl. No parts available for the Jabsco spotlight as its not made anymore but JB Harvey Co in Miami can rebuild it.
Plumbing is a bitch. Nothing is "standard" and RV stuff won't work. Watch out for leaks. Labor of Love. Windlass next project. Good luck

Also the gel coat paint is special. Got the details from Carver. If you have hull number they can tell you pretty much what you need or point you in right direction
