466 peformance differance with volvo d9-500 vs dp-575

466 peformance differance with volvo d9-500 vs dp-575

We are looking at a couple of 466's one has d9-500 one has d9-575 is there much actual performance with the extra 150 HP?

The performance is at the very top of the spectrum OR if you are loaded. However, you probably won't notice the loaded performance unless you see the identical boats running alongside each other with the sames engines, one loaded and one not.

The bigger engines don't have to work as hard at lower speeds up there may be a bit of fuel savings, but bigger engines drink more so it's probably a wash.

We don't buy these boats to go flogging them at 27kts so for me the top end is irrelevant. All of the engines in these boats have buckets of torque for running around the dock and getting up on step.
